Everyone wants to be good at writing for different reasons. Some people want to be better writers because they want to go to university, some because writing is important to them and others because of job requirements. When I studied Chinese, I wanted to learn to write because I thought that just being able to speak was not enough - not being able to write was a big problem especially in a culture where being a good writer was a great thing to be. I can very good with Chinese writing because writing is a means for the expression of thought is a mode of communication and it can make more people understand you. I hope I can pass the writing to let more people understand and also my hope that through others writing to understand them, I hope we can smooth communication and then become friends.
ReplyDeleteYou're right that writing is an expression of thought and sometimes i think people can express themselves more honestly and accurately when they write. It's great that you want to get to know other people through your writing. I hope that you get lots of chances on this course to do that.
DeleteFirst of all, Writing is improved to grammar which makes sentences.
ReplyDeleteIf I make writings, I can recognize my grammar problems. When I used English, grammar is always troubled. After I started writing class, my grammar was a little improved. Writing is helped Grammar practice. It is difficult to me but I want to practice and I want to improve my writing.
The second reason,
In the future, to get my job is writing will be basic.
My major is social welfare and it is treats to people. For meet people, speaking is a foundation as well as writing is very important thing.
If I am a possible only speaking, my expression is not enough because detail part is difficult explained.
I want that my major is applied Korean writing as well as English writing.
As writing, spirit and emotion are communicated very attractive and wonderful.
For these reasons, I want to improve my writing and I hope better than now.

That's right. It's often easier to see our grammar mistakes in our writing, more than with our speaking. If you want to improve your grammar then you have to use it in your writing or speaking and sometimes it is easier to write than to speak, especially when you are at home or when there are no-English speakers around you. I'm happy to see that you think writing and speaking are equally important - we'll try to keep a balance of those skills on this course.
DeleteI always not a good writer, but I want to improve. First, if I want to go to university I should take IELTS, so I should get enough points about writing. Writing is include vocabulary and grammar, so when I improve my writing I also improving my vocabulary and grammar. Second, I think if you want to e-mail to friends, you need good writing, good writing can help you easy to make friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you want to improve. So you want to go to university - so you'll need at least a 6 in your IELTS writng I imagine. You are right that vocabulary and grammar are important that why we will focus on these a lot in the course.
DeleteI like a lot of writing, but I can't write properly in English, this fact is very frustrating for me.
ReplyDeleteIt is impossible for me to express what I think or how I feel, if I don't understand perfectly well the vocabulary and grammar, and if you did not use correct grammar when speaking.
I believe that writing is one of the most beautiful forms of expression. If you have a large vocabulary you can create amazing stories, poems or just put to paper (or blog) your feelings.
And, now I have many friends from different countries, who do not speak my language, so my only way for communicate, is to speak and write in English, because I'm wish you to express everything I think.

I know it can be frustrating if you can't say exactly what you want to say when you speak a foreign language and you are right that having a good vocabulary is really important to do this. Would yo be interested in dpoing some creative writing (stories, poems etc)on this course?

There are my reason that why I choose writing class.
Writing is a great way to remember words and also grammar structures. Also it is a good way to practise English when you are on your own and there will be many times when you will need to write in English in the future (emails, Facebook etc).

ReplyDeleteIt's great that you see writing as an important skill to have, especially as you want to go to university. Also when you email friends or facebook your friends who don't speak Chinese, you'll need to write in English. I think you definietely need to be able to read to understand the history of a nation, I would be interested to know why you think writing is necessary for this.

ReplyDeleteMy English was problems although I wanted to improve my English anything.English was important for real life.When I worked job in my hometown sometimes I must worked with people foreign, which reasoned to improve my English.Big problem was vocabulary, which I knew a little.If i well English in the future I will go to study about Photos Fashion.Hopefully It'll comes true.
